What is a reverse mortgage

Reverse mortgage is a new kind of loan against your home that you need not pay back as long as you live in that house. With reverse mortgage you can mortgage the value of your home in cash without repaying the loan every month and as well as without moving out of the house, and this cash can be repaid in several ways like you can pay at one stretch in single lump sum of amount, or in regular cash advance monthly, or in credit line account that is you can decide how much available cash can be paid or combinations of any of these methods.

No matter how you pay back this loan, as you do not need to pay back anything until your death or sell your home or move out of your house permanently. For the eligibility of reverse mortgage you should have own your home and your age should be 62 years or older.

For other kind of loans the lender check your income documents for the verification of your repayment status monthly, but in reverse mortgage there is no need of repayment of loan monthly, so you need not require any income proof, even if you have no source of income but still you are eligible of reverse mortgage.

With other kind of mortgages you may lose you home incase if you do not make your repayment monthly, but in reverse mortgage you may not lose your home by not making the repayment, mostly reverse mortgages does not require any repayment as long as you live and that is the reason reverse mortgage differs from other loans

With reverse mortgage your debt gets increased and the equity of your home decreases, as the lender lends you the cash and you don’t make the repayment, and the debt amount get increased as the interest is being added up with your balance loan amount and ultimately your debts increase and your equity decreases, unless the value of your home is getting increased. Incase if the value of your home decreased there will not be any equity left out except your loan amount so it is nothing but spending down your home equity while you live in your home with out the need of making repayments.

Exception in reverse mortgages are when you get the loan advance without interest charged on it your debt would remain the same and your equity would grow with the increase in home value. But normally home value does not grow at high rates and also the interest rate is also charged so finally the majority of the reverse mortgages ended up with “falling equity and rising debt” loans.

Adult bunny costume find your bunny costume with an adult twist

:
Winter of 2006 is becoming a distant memory, and with spring virtually around the corner, many adult men and women are in the hunt for an adult bunny costume for their next costume party and private event!

Like Halloween and Independence Day, Easter is another time of year adults take advantage of dressing up in their favorite costumes. Whether it’s for that special moment when the kids are searching for Easter eggs in the yard, or for the sexy couple’s fantasy that just want to keep their imaginations alive, depending on what your current desires are, a bunny character is a popular choice among many adults in the spring.

Individuals on a budget, consider what type of bunny you would like to be, and if you have no clue, maybe I can help you with a really “bunny idea” to help you get your imagination flowing, and possibly make your next event a humorous one. If you’re a serious bunny, don’t read any further! I don’t want you to start getting hopping mad at me. Ok, I will stop the rabbit puns.

If you happen to attend costume parties annually and you’re stuck on ideas of what costume you would like to do this year, one idea from another article I wrote on unique costume ideas was the Playboy theme that I believe will fit nicely. You will have to start off by contacting several friends, gathering one guy and several women friends. If you have all women, or all men, I’m sure you will figure something out together.

The Men: Go to your local thrift shop, or if you happen to already have a red satin smoking jacket (I don’t want to know any details on why you have one), use the jacket, and add onto them with some optional accessories. You will need bunny ears, rabbit teeth (optional), fuzzy white slippers, costume face paint, and one large real or fake carrot. If you love eating carrots, I would suggest you go with the fake one.

The Women: I know every woman’s dream is to dress up as a Playboy Bunny! Ok, it’s every man’s dream, but work with me on this one! Find yourself a tight body suit, sexy nylons, high heels, and for accessories you can get a bow tie, bunny ears, bunny makeup, and any other accessories you feel will make your costume unique.

When you arrive at the costume party, the final result will be Hugh (Bunny) Hefner and his beautiful Playboy Bunnies at his side. This costume idea fits the theme, and you can have fun playing the part, bunny style.

For the adults that have a larger budget and don’t have the time to shop at the local thrift stores, you can access a variety of adult bunny costumes online at some of the top costume supply stores. They offer adult bunny outfits and costume accessories that will have you ready for any party that comes hopping your way. Buying a costume is practical, because you can wear it more than once, and I’m sure you will have a friend or two that may want to borrow or rent it from you some day soon.

Whichever bunny costume idea you decide to go with, whether it’s home made or store bought, remember to put your personal touch and imagination into your costume, and have fun. I wish everyone a very happy Easter, and I hope you keep eye out for more of my costume ideas and tips for future costume parties coming your way this year!

Bug detectors offer security for home and business

In today’s modern society where high tech reigns supreme, it is more important than ever to protect our homes and businesses from people who would photograph, video record, and listen in to our private business and personal lives for the purpose of stealing information. Fortunately, there are numerous types of bug detectors that enable us to stop this type of information theft.

For example, an acoustic noise generator is a type of bug detector that creates an audio blanket that can be used to defeat bugs placed in walls, ceilings, windows, even plumbing and air conditioning ducts. There are also audio jammers you can purchase that can desensitize hidden microphones by creating a random masking sound. These jammers protect room conversations thereby preventing sensitive information from being leaked out to unwanted sources and idea stealing competitors.

Other types of bug detectors, like an analog and digital RF detector and frequency counter, are the perfect instruments to use for radio frequency detection. Then there are also cell phone detectors that alert the user instantly whenever a cell phone has been turned on from as far away as ninety feet. With one of these ingenious devices, you no longer have to worry if someone is carrying a hidden cell phone on their person for covert reasons. Should they turn it on for the purpose of having someone else listen in or record a conversation you’re having, this little device will let you know immediately so that you can make them turn it off, or send them on their way.

The emotional effects of acne

You've been anticipating — and possibly dreading — the "big day" for weeks. The nature of the event isn't important; it may be a first date, an important job interview, or your own birthday party. You try to hide behind hair or heavy make-up. But you can't ignore the face in the mirror.

Sound familiar? For acne sufferers all over the world, these scenarios are all too common. Even routine social interactions — a day at the office, a trip to the market — can be a nightmare of stress and self-loathing. Yet, due to the "merely cosmetic" nature of acne vulgaris, these very real emotions are widely dismissed as oversensitivity. Clear-faced friends and co-workers say, "Really, it looks worse to you."

And they're probably right. But they're missing an important point: Acne is as much about how you feel as how you look. Over the years, the research methods and medical treatments may have changed, but the answers to the question "how does your acne make you feel?" have remained alarmingly constant: Ugly. Angry. Dirty. Depressed. These answers are consistent across gender lines, age barriers and national borders.

What is being done?

Every year, millions of dollars are devoted to the medical study and treatment of acne; millions more are spent on the development and marketing of over-the-counter remedies. Comparatively little energy, however, has been spent determining the psychological and social effects of the condition. Consider the following statement:

There is no single condition which causes more psychic trauma, more maladjustment between parent and children, more general insecurity and feelings of inferiority and greater sums of psychic suffering than does acne vulgaris.1

Made by Sulzberger and Zaidems in a 1948 article, this statement rings true today. Despite acne's limited impact on overall patient health, several studies have concluded that it produces a similar degree of emotional stress to skin conditions causing significant physical disability. The implications are fairly obvious: Acne hurts more on the inside. So why is it so easy for people to dismiss these feelings as vanity?

The problem of measuring emotion.

The difficulty lies not in validating acne's negative affects, but in quantifying them. For years, researchers have been struggling to find an accurate means of measurement for this particular kind of study. Scientists use psychometrics to measure conditions of the mind, but have yet to develop a scale for evaluating the psychological effects of physical conditions such as acne. And the use of psychometric scales for evaluating acne patients has been largely inconclusive.

Why? Emotional symptoms — depression, anger, low self-esteem — are influenced by an incredible number of variables. So it's difficult to know for sure whether one's depression is caused by acne alone or a combination of factors, ranging from trouble in school to on-the-job stress. At the moment, the best way to understand the psychosocial effects of acne seems surprisingly simple: Listen.

The power of patient testimony.

Until science develops an accurate scale, the best way for us to learn about acne's emotional effects is from the patients themselves. The following passages are excerpted from verbatim quotes taken during a 1995 study in San Francisco.2 In dramatic contrast with the psychometric questionnaires used in the past, patients were asked open-ended questions and encouraged to answer at length.

It has been many years since I have looked in a mirror. I comb my hair using a silhouette on the wall to show the outline of my head. I have not looked myself in the eyes in years, and that is painful to not be able to do that, and that is a direct result of acne.

When my acne got more severe, I began to really examine more things, become more aware of social norms, what is acceptable, what is attractive. That is when I began to have lower self-esteem; it made me become more of an introvert. It made me want to avoid certain occasions. 'Ask her out? Well, maybe not. She won't be interested because of how I look.

It's associated with being dirty, and I hate that, because it's not at all like that. I inherited it from my mother, and she is always telling me that she had the exact same thing, and that it will go away. I am mad that I inherited it from her. My dad makes me feel bad because he never had bad skin when he was younger, so he doesn't understand.

My mother doesn’t know what she has done to hurt me. If I ate fatty foods, she would criticize. If I ate spicy food — which Thai food is, they are all spicy — she would say that because I ate spicy food, that was why I had pimples. She kept telling me how ugly my face was, and no one was going to marry me if I had bad-looking skin. And that really hurts me.

I know I am so insecure in this way — but if I go into a store, I won't buy candy, even if I really want it. I think in my mind that people are looking at what I am buying, and thinking, 'Oh, she eats junk. No wonder she has so many zits on her face.

From just this small sample, it's easy to see the wide-ranging emotional impact of acne on those who suffer from it. These accounts of family conflict, social withdrawal and deep private suffering are, according to the patients, the direct result of their acne.

While it's hard to measure the impact of this condition, the message within these testimonies is clear: Acne can cause profound emotional suffering. Of course, if you live with acne, this isn’t news — but it may be helpful to know you’re not alone.

Think you may have diabetes

What is diabetes?

Diabetes is a disease in which the body does not properly control the amount of sugar in the blood stream. As a result, the level of sugar in the blood is too high. This disease occurs when the body does not produce enough insulin or does not use it properly.

The symptoms of diabetes should be recognized. Recognizing a symptom or sign for diabetes is important – diabetes can be life-threatening. Diabetes can be caused by too little insulin in the body or by the inability to utilize the insulin. Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas which regulates blood sugar levels. Over 15 million people the US alone suffer from diabetes.

The main types of diabetes are:

Type 1 diabetes (often called juvenile or insulin-dependent diabetes) - is a chronic (lifelong) disease that occurs when the pancreas produces too little insulin to regulate blood sugar levels appropriately.

Type 2 diabetes (often called adult or non-insulin-dependent diabetes) - is the most common form of diabetes. About 90 to 95 percent of people who have diabetes have type 2 diabetes. People with type 2 diabetes produce insulin, but either not produce enough insulin or their bodies do not utilize the insulin made. Most of the people who have this type of diabetes are overweight.

Gestational Diabetes - is high blood glucose that develops during pregnancy in a woman.

How would you know if you might have diabetes?

The most common symptoms of diabetes include – fatigue, increased appetite, increased thirst, blurred vision, frequent urination, slow healing infections and even impotence in adult males.

By exhibiting any of these signs does not necessarily mean you have diabetes though. The best way to determine this is to visit your doctor and request the fasting blood glucose level test. Diabetes is diagnosed if this test shows the blood glucose level is higher than 126 mg/dl on two different tests.

There is no cure for diabetes at the moment, so what should one do if diagnosed with diabetes? The objectives are to keep your blood sugars stabilized as much as possible. By maintaining a balanced blood sugar level, you can eliminate any possibility of immediate or semi-immediate problems – in turn… prolonging ones life.

Remember, life doesn’t stop because you have diabetes; it merely becomes more of a challenge. The good news on the other hand is the cure for diabetes may not be that far off. Until then, keep your blood sugars regulated, eat right and exercise daily.

Guide to hot tub heaters

We hop into the bathtub only if the temperature is right and equal throughout. The heaters that come long with spa or hot tubs furnish sustained heat to provide the maximum heat to provide the benefits of hydrotherapy including stress reduction, relaxation, and pain relief for arthritis. There are two types of heaters available – electric and propane heaters. The size of these heaters varies from small ones for hot tubs to aboveground and in-ground models for swimming pools.

Propane Or Gas Heater and features

Propane is considered as the “green “energy as it helps to cut emissions and protect the environment. It is non-toxic and insoluble in water and does not leave a residue in the tub. So it is considered to be clean. Propane is an efficient and friendly fuel. Propane heaters cut emission of toxins and yields 12 percent less carbon dioxide and 60 percent less carbon monoxide. Propane heaters heat water quickly and evenly compared to electric heater or other fuels.

Built-in properties of Propane

1. Propane will not ignite when combined with air.

2. Propane gas is non-toxic and insoluble in water.

3. It is not harmful to soil or water

4. Since the cost of gas is less than electricity it lowers the day-to-day cost.

Electric hot tub heater features

If the tub is a portable one you cannot use gas heater as they always come with electrical heating units. Electric water heater is also dependable performance proven and corrosion free. They are available in compact models of 5.5 kw and 11kw. Models that are available today have longer life as the heavy-duty incoloy heating elements lasts longer. The waterways, are corrosion-free copper and bronze, this enables longer life. The electric heaters have built-in safety measure to prevent operation without water flow, a temperature to prevent overheating and a good quality thermostat. They are compact and easy to install.

Tips on buying hot tub

Electric hot tub can actually make your energy bills rocket if you do not choose your system carefully. Go for a tub with full foam closed-cell insulation. This holds the energy bills down and the heat in. Look for a model with a sealed heating element as this prevents the water from touching the actual element. The heater will last longer and work more efficiently. Hot tub circulation system to be left on continuously to keep water clean and ready to use. This will save energy too. A reputable dealer will be able to tell you how much it will cost to operate a hot tub.

What every consumer needs to know before visiting a massage therapist

As more consumers turn to massage therapy for medical conditions and to relieve stress, the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) wants to share some tips with the public to help them find a massage therapist who is trained and qualified.

Consumers should ask the following questions of a massage therapist before getting a massage:

- Are you licensed to practice massage?

- Are you a member of the American Massage Therapy Association?

- Where did you receive your massage therapy training?

- Are you Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork?

Trained massage therapists are happy to share their credentials with clients. AMTA professional members have demonstrated a level of skill and knowledge through education and/or testing and are required to meet continuing education standards to retain membership. Consumers can rest assured that their massage therapist has met minimum education and training standards if he or she is a member of AMTA. Although, we suggest a massage therapist that is a member of AMTA, there are many excellent massage therapists that are not members. Just be sure to view their credentials.

People today look to massage therapy for more than pampering. In fact, preliminary results from AMTA’s annual consumer survey suggest consumers seek massage for medical conditions more than just because it feels good. And, other healthcare providers often refer their patients to massage therapists.

Recent research shows that massage provides relief for chronic low back pain, eases pain and muscle spasms following bypass surgery, and is effective in treating lymphedema, a condition common among mastectomy survivors.

Finding a qualified massage therapist is easy by using AMTA’s free Find A Massage Therapist® national locator service. Simply click on Find a Massage Therapist, or call toll-free at 888-THE-AMTA (888-843-2682). A series of prompts will steer you through the process and will provide a list of member massage therapists you can contact in your area.

How to visualize the things you want

Visualization is by far one of the most powerful tools for good setting and attracting what you want. Yet few people know how to properly visualize. With the right technique you can begin to see outstanding results in successfully attracting what you want, granted you full apply what you learn.

First you are visualizing all the time. You may not be aware of it but you are always conjuring up images in your mind. When you are speaking on the telephone to someone you are most of ten times trying to see in your mind what they are telling you. You also visualize when you are deep in thought. When you are worrying about paying your debt or worrying about the way you would really like to live your life you are also visualizing what you want.

The hard part however is to use that creative force to actually attract the things you want. This is where many people go terribly wrong.

Here is a great test to help you understand the most effective way visualize. Think of the last time you were deep in thought. Now try to remember what that felt like. If you can recall that time, you will notice that you were deep inside of yourself. You were unaware of anyone or anything and as you were allowing yourself to visualize you could feel clearly that you were having the experience as if it were real. That is the power of visualization.

When people ask all the time How do I visualize the things I want, I tell them the same way you visualize the things that you don’t want. You see when you are feeling anxious and fearful you lock yourself away in your inner mind with those images. You loose sight of other possibilities and if it is something that happened to you, then you recreate it in its full detail with all your emotions all over again.

Try to immerse yourself with full emotions when you are trying to create the things you want. Many thoughts may come to distract you but if you will redirect your mind to what you do want your mind will be trained to hold that thought.

There are many tools and techniques that can greatly empower your ability to visualize if you really have a hard time. You can add extreme magnetism to any mental image you want to create as long as you apply the right technique.

Myths of the american civil war

The Civil War (1861-5) has spawned numerous myths and falsities.

The Republicans did not intend to abolish slavery - just to "contain" it, i. e., limit it to the 15 states where it had already existed. Most of the Democrats accepted this solution.

This led to a schism in the Democratic party. The "fire eaters" left it and established their own pro-secession political organization. Growing constituencies in the south - such as urban immigrants and mountain farmers - opposed slavery as a form of unfair competition. Less than one quarter of southern families owned slaves in 1861. Slave-based, mainly cotton raising, enterprises, were so profitable that slave prices almost doubled in the 1850s. This rendered slaves - as well as land - out of the reach of everyone but the wealthiest citizens.

Cotton represented three fifths of all United States exports in 1860. Southerners, dependent on industrial imports as they were, supported free trade. Northerners were vehement trade protectionists. The federal government derived most of its income from custom duties. Income tax and corporate profit tax were yet to be invented.

The states seceded one by one, following secession conventions and state-wide votes. The Confederacy (Confederate States of America) was born only later. Not all the constituents of the Confederacy seceded at once. Seven - the "core" - seceded between December 20, 1860 and February 1, 1861. They were: South Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas.

Another four - Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Arkansas - joined them only after the attack on Fort Sumter in April 1861. Two - Kentucky and Missouri - seceded but were controlled by the Union's army throughout the war. Maryland and Delaware were slave states but did not secede.

President James Buchanan who preceded Abraham Lincoln, made clear that the federal government would not use force to prevent secession. Secession was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court only in 1869 (in Texas vs. White) - four years after the Civil War ended. New England almost seceded in 1812, during the Anglo-American conflict, in order to protect its trade with Britain.

The constitution of the Confederacy prohibited African slave trade (buying slaves from Africa), though it allowed interstate trade in slaves. The first Confederate capital was in Montgomery, Alabama - not in Richmond, Virginia. The term of office of the Confederate president - Jefferson Davis was the first elected - was six years, not four as was the case in the Union.

Fort Sumter was not the first attack of the Confederacy on the Union. It was preceded by attacks on 11 forts and military installations on Confederate territory.

Lincoln won only 40 percent of the popular vote in 1860. Hence the South's fierce resistance to his abolitionist agenda. In 1864, the Republicans became so unpopular, they had to change their name to the Union Party. Lincoln's vice-president, Johnson, actually was a Democrat and hailed from Tennessee, a seceding state.

He was the only senator from a seceded state to remain in the Senate.

Reconstruction started long before the war ended, in Union-occupied Louisiana, Arkansas, and Tennessee. Slave tax was an important source of state revenue in the South (up to 60 percent in South Carolina). Emancipation led to near bankruptcy.

The Union states of Connecticut, Minnesota, and Wisconsin refused to pass constitutional amendments to confer suffrage on black males. The Union army consigned black labor gangs to work on the plantations of loyal Southerners and forcibly separated the black workers from their families.

Contrary to myth, nearly two thirds of black families were headed by both parents. Slave marriages were legally meaningless in the antebellum South, though. But nearly 90 percent of slave households remained intact till death or forced separation. The average age of childbirth for women was 20.

Segregation was initiated by blacks. The freedmen lobbied hard and long for separate black churches and educational facilities. Nor was lynching confined to blacks. For instance, a white mob lynched, in September 1862, forty four Union supporters in Gainesville, Texas. Similar events took place in Shelton Laurel, North Carolina. The Ku Klux Klan was the paramilitary arm of the Democratic party in the South, though never officially endorsed by it. It was used to "discipline" the workforce in the plantations - but also targeted Republicans.

The Democrats changed their name after the war to the Conservative Party. By 1877 they have regained power in all formerly Confederate states.

Confessions of a lapsed islamist

Is Islamism, Islam ?

I define Islamism as the twentieth century political movement to instill “Islamic” governments in Muslim countries. The intellectual architects of this movement were Sayyid Qutb, Maududi, Ayatollah Khomeini and Hassan al-Turabi, amongst others. They have formed the political and governance template for movements in Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Turkey, Palestine, Somali, Sudan and Pakistan. The Islamist movements begin with a small, religiously purified elite of the wider group of believers that are welded into a group that form the nucleus for political and community action. It is interesting to observe that this type of Qutb Islamism is now employed as a modus operandi for Christian groups who wish to transform their community support into political power. The RNC’s flirtation with the evangelicals has parallels with Ikhwan’s links to the Nasserites, right down to the betrayal, (but not the executions).

Islam is of course what we all understand it to be, the religious belief and codified ritual practice contained in the Quran and Prophetic (PBUH) Sunnah. It is the basis of what a Muslim does.

Although there is wide religious diversity amongst the proponents of Islamism there is surprising unity in political method and public governance. Khomeni for example is a “twelver shia”, Maududi founded the Jammat e Islami and Qutb was the spiritual source for movements as including the Muslim Brotherhood at one end and Al Qaida at the other. There are fundamental theological differences between these movements, but the chronology of their rise, the method of their political action and the similarities of their governance suggest that they are surprising similarities.

Islamist governments are one party structures with weak or non-existent alternative voices. Although they reach power via the ballot box they are disdainful of the transformative power of public participation in community governance. They also shun transparency, media freedom and gradualism. The governments have strong social justice commitments and high standards of personal public official accountability, although over time these are eroded by the corruption of unchecked political power. There is always a concentration of power amongst the spiritual elite, such as the Iranian the revolutionary guardian council.

Islamist governments concentrate disproportionately on the outward manifestations of Islamic observance, women’s dress, alcohol consumption, prostitution, etc. They seem less willing to understand or rectify other more important systems of government. There is no standard Islamist economic policy, but there are strong trends to a determinist economic model, although this is widely recognized as a failed model, and is ironically profoundly “un-Islamic”.

Although Islamist governments are authoritarian and keen to introduce what they deem to be “Sharia” law they are surprisingly devoid of ethic of the rule of such law, the narrow scope of legislation to certain aspects of criminal law (the Hudud), and they do not tolerate a judiciary independent of the executive. The fidelity toward the absolute rule of law or to governance based on unchanging set of legal principles is conspicuously lacking. The arbitrary nature of legal rulings itself becomes an obstacle to social stability and economic progress

Islamist governments appear to have more in common with Marxist regimes of the early and middle part of the twentieth century than with the Prophetic (PBUH) model of governance in Medinat ul Nabi in the 6th century. Their development along this abbherent path reflects the very low level of education amongst Islamists group and their unwillingness to read non-Muslim scholars and understand that this type of governance has been tried and has failed. Islamist have no understanding of Islamic finance that are rarely developed beyond rudimentary systems, nor do they understand the gradualism that is required to move societies. Islamist regimes are revolutionary and radical. they seek to impose the will of the elite on the masses without persuasion, trust and transparency. Islamist governments confuse their own survival with that of Islam, which forms the basis for their missionary zeal, resembling most closely that of Lenin’s October revolutionaries.

Youssef Choueiri details the profound similarities between the the 19th century French Nobel prize winner Alexis Carrel and the thesis of Sayyid Qutb. he goes on to assert:

"What Qutb fails to inform his vanguard, however, is that the code of conduct he subsequently elaborated in his ‘commentary’ on the Koran matches that of Carrel much more than Muhammad’s own Traditions.’ The result is not an indigenous form of governance, but ‘a Third World version of Fascism." (Courtesy of Sheikh Abdul Hakim Murad)

This is not to say that Islamism is synonymous with fascism, which clearly it is not. Nor is it to say that all Islamic thinkers are identical, they are not. Maududi’s Jaamat e Islami was enthusiastically democratic and non violent. The critique of it is different to that of Sayyid Qutb. Qutb’s later writings, especially from prison have an authoritarian and revolutionary flavor that is not authentically Islamic. The purported template for radical Islamists such as Qutb, and the source of his Islamic authenticity is their alleged fidelity to the method of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This assertion is false and they must be challenged on it.

In pre-Islamic Arabia, there was no government, no government structures and only the most rudimentary tribal understandings. Even during this period, and with the profound difference in understanding, the Prophet (PBUH) did not impose his will upon Medina, although the citizens had invited him to do so. Rather his community power, grew gradually with increasing community support. Political support lagged behind widespread community support in Medina: Abi Salul was allowed to sit in the presence of the Prophet (PBUH) and mock him without fear, although the Prophet enjoyed widespread community support and was de-facto ruler of Medina. He did not impose Islamic rules on other faith communities, but rather treated them generously often at the expense of strict justice to Muslims. As Islam spread the Muslim rulers were known for their minimalist intervention in local government, economics and trade.

The Islamic law was a welcome relief from the arbitrary negotiated justice of tribal law and allowed guarantee of property rights and was administered by an independent impartial judiciary, which is they very opposite of the current situation. The Islamist doctrine is disturbingly messianic, something that is un-Islamic. If one wishes to preach, it is better to actually preach the worship of God, rather than preach a totalitarianism that you may believe will in the future be congenial to the worship of God, i. e. the worship of God rather than the worship of Islamism.

Groups such as Hizb ut Tahrir take this absurdity to its logical limit when they claim that their vision of Islamist government is actually a secular system of rules that will produce a Utopian society. They therefore are not interested in preaching this worship of God, but rather the adherence to a set of political ideals which are claimed to be central to the Islamic ideals of government. These assertions are false. Islam needs to be lived first before it is legislated. Institutionalizing piety is itself problematic, as we are currently discovering.

The first generation of Islamists who are now entering the last years of their lives are full of regrets. In private conversations they admit that the errors they made were to rush into political power and compromise or distort religious principles for short term political gain. They also admit that in formulating their lofty goals they were almost childlike in their naivetй. One recurring regret is prominient, moving from a community based religious movement to a political party has been a tragedy for the former. Once it entered politics, the growth in the Islamist support stopped, then gradually declined. If one were primarily committed to the promotion of worship of Allah, this should be alarming.

As one who feels that the Muslim world will never truly be itself until Islam forms an integral part of its polity, I don’t wish to see a secular government. That model (e. g. Bathism in Iraq, Egypt and Syria) has been tried and failed. Nor has secular government given security to non-Muslim countries who have interests in the Muslim world, indeed it is regularly argued that totalitarian secular polity has been the germ that has fuelled Islamic radicalism. But the Islamist models that are on display today are excessively romantic, formulaic and shallow. Islamists need to turn down the temperature of their public religious fervor and demonstrate that they can govern a community.

Contemporary Islamism is in danger of losing its authenticity. Although it is currently in ascendancy it will not last long unless it reformulates itself without its Marxist baggage and studies non-Muslim thinkers who have already grappled with the idea of religion and society.

Reggie bush

Born Reginald Bush, this California native came into the world in March 1985 in San Diego. He grew up in Spring Valley where his father worked as a campus security officer and his mother was employed by the county jail as a deputy sheriff. While attending Helix High School, Bush showed a big interest in athletics as he succeeded in both football and track. Nicknamed “The President,” Reggie later took his love of football with him as he went off to college. He has played a variety of positions as a member of the University of Southern California Trojans football team. Among them, running back, tail back, wide receiver, punt and kickoff return. Out of all positions, Bush is perhaps best noted for his status as a running back. In fact, he is believed to be one of the best, if not the best, running back in USC’s history.

Among his many accomplishments with the University of Southern California Trojans, Bush was presented with the Walter Camp Award, the Doak Walker Award, the Heisman Trophy and was named the 2005 AP Sportsman of the Year. As a political science major, it is clear that Reggie Bush is talented in both academics and athletics. His athletic talent was immediately noticed during his freshman season at USC, but became even more so during the years that would follow.

As much as Bush valued his collegiate years, he opted to decline his senior season in order to prepare himself for the 2006 NFL draft. On January 12, the announcement was made that Reggie Bush would declare himself eligible and is predicted to be the first overall pick. Many experts believe that the Houston Texans, who currently hold the first pick, will select Reggie Bush in the 2006 NFL draft. Souvenirs, apparel and collectibles featuring Bush’s likeness and jersey number are popular among football fans everywhere. The collectibles market is one of the largest revenue generating sources in any sport. Replica jerseys, one of the most popular forms of sporting apparel, is especially desirable.

Fans, both NFL and collegiate, can expect to see much more of Reggie Bush in the future. As his NFL debut most certainly approaches, eyes will be affixed to the news and the draft picks to see which team will ultimately select Bush. Whichever franchise offers him a spot on their national team, one thing is for sure. Reggie Bush is going places and the adventure begins in 2006.

The tradition of the diamond engagement ring

Most little girls grow up dreaming of the moment that their knight in shining armor gets down on one knee and proposes. It is a romantic gesture that is topped off with the perfect accessory, the engagement ring. Most little girls dream of that perfect diamond atop their ring finger, gleaming and bright. The engagement ring has a very old and interesting history that began thousands of years ago. The traditional diamond engagement ring that we know of today is actually a fairly recent custom.

In most traditions in the Western world, an engagement ring is worn by a woman on the third (ring) finger of her left hand, signifying that she is engaged to be married. The ring is usually presented by a man upon a proposal of marriage, and worn by the woman after she accepts his proposal. It signifies the agreement to marry, and is usually worn along with the wedding band (on the same finger) for the duration of the woman's life or the marriage, whichever ends first.

The tradition of the engagement ring can be traced back as far as Ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome. The Ancient Romans held the belief that the Vena Amoris (Latin for "vein of love") was located in the ring finger of the left hand. It was believed that this vein ran directly from the finger to the heart. The circle of the engagement ring was also believed to represent the eternal bond of love, a romantic notion that is still largely believed even today.

The design and material of the engagement ring has changed quite a bit through the years. While in ancient times an engagement band was fashioned out of hemp, rope, or even lead (in Ancient Rome) and usually did not contain gemstones, today we traditionally see engagement rings fashioned out of precious metals such as platinum or gold, holding a single set stone, which is most commonly a diamond.

The diamond engagement ring seems to be the most common and accepted piece of its type due to its permanence, beauty, and expense. It is a reflection of the love felt between two people. That is probably why it is expected that a man plunk down tons of money for an engagement ring. The cost of the ring is ultimately up to the individual, and how much he wants (or can afford) to spend. Some guidelines assert that 2-3 months salary should be shelled out for the ring. That amount of money can purchase quite a diamond engagement ring!

Diamond engagement rings most commonly come with solitaire settings, and come in a variety of diamond shapes, such as pear, round, princess, heart, marquis, and square. Each shape showcases the brilliance of a diamond in a different way, and adds to the individuality of the piece. More often, you will find that diamond engagement rings are set with more than one stone, and even side stones. This can mean more smaller diamonds, or more large diamonds, depending on the whim (and the credit line) of the man doing the buying!

It is however, becoming more and more common to see engagement rings that either contain another type of gemstone besides a diamond, or contain other colored gemstones with a diamond. You often see solitaire set emeralds, rubies, or sapphires, or any of these stones set with smaller surrounding diamonds. This represents the taste and individuality of the woman who wears the ring, and often makes for a quite unique and beautiful ring to wear.

The diamond engagement ring (or an engagement ring containing other precious gems) is a representation of a promise of eternal love and devotion. The possibilities in rings are endless, and should be chosen with care to reflect the woman's taste, style, and personality. After all, she will be wearing the ring for a very long time to come.

Best credit cards

Choosing the best credit cards to meet your personal credit needs is an important step to take. Credit cards are the best for short-term credit borrowing, and if you choose the best credit cards wisely, you won't be struggling with unmanageable cards payments either. But how do you go about choosing the best cards for your circumstances?

Making a decision about the best cards to carry

Deciding on the best cards to carry in your wallet or purse should not be left to chance. The best decision is to shop around for credit cards instead of plumping for the first credit offers that hit your doormat, as these credit offers are unlikely to be the best for you. Your starting point when looking for the best cards should be an evaluation of how you best intend to use your credit cards, as the best credit cards for you will vary with personal circumstances. For instance, if you want to use your credit cards as a convenient replacement for cash / debit cards when shopping, and your best intention is to pay off your credit balance every month, then the best cards are those that offer the best / longest interest-free period on purchases, and are available without an annual fee. On the other hand, if you are making a large purchase where the best part of your credit balance is to be carried over for several months then credit cards with a high personal limit and low APR rate are going to be the best.

Many people choose to carry several credit cards so they can move their debt around to the best of their ability without incurring substantial interest payments. The best cards for this purpose are those that provide 0% interest on balance transfers. The best credit companies will offer this for a limited introductory period, after which they will begin charging interest on the balance. The best way to further extend interest-free credit for a card debt is to open new credit cards that offer 0% on balance transfers when the introductory offer on your best credit cards expire.

Best credit cards - additional benefits

Aside from low interest rates, special balance transfer deals and the best personal credit limits, the best credit cards companies also provide a plethora of add-on services designed to be the best and attract us to sign up. Badged credit cards supporting a charity or prestige credit cards that provide discounted membership to associations such as vehicle breakdown services are popular, although they may not be the best cards for your circumstances. Many of the best credit companies also offer the best low-cost payment protection cover on their cards, so best protecting you in the event that the minimum payment cannot be met because of redundancy or ill health. Some of the best cards also allow you to service your credit cards account online.

Aussie chef shares culinary secrets with americans

What if a famous Australian chef came to your home and offered to make dinner?

That's the premise of a new television cooking show-but with a twist. Chef Curtis Stone is making his debut on American television, ambushing unsuspecting shoppers with an offer they simply can't refuse. Each episode in the series called "Take Home Chef," shown Fridays at 8:00 p. m. on TLC, begins with a covert Stone racing through a grocery store as he searches for the perfect culinary partner. Once he's found one he turns on the charm, offering to accompany the shopper home and prepare a gourmet meal using the items in his or her shopping cart-plus a few savory extras.

Once participants seem willing to go along with this culinary adventure, they take Stone home and work with him in their own kitchens or out at the grill to create a delicious dinner. And, as Australians are known for "throwing another one on the barbee," Chef Stone is likely to be sharing a lot of his grilling secrets from Down Under, while at the same time learning how to function in an average American kitchen.

Some of the grilling tips offered in "Take Home Chef" include:

• When cooking larger pieces of meat, like roasts, pile the coals on one side and place the food on the other. This allows for indirect cooking and reduces charring.

• Don't use charcoal lighter fluid or briquettes that have added starter fluid built into them. This will leave an unpleasant taste in the smoke.

• Rubs are one of the best things you can use to add flavor to your meat. They are combinations of spices that seal in the flavor of the meat, form a tasty crust, enhance color and pull moisture from the air while drawing juices from inside the meat, causing the meat to marinate itself as it cooks.

Chef Curtis Stone started his culinary career at The Savoy Hotel, in his hometown of Melbourne, Australia at the age of 18. The European and British chefs he knew there taught him the importance of working abroad to increase one's experience and skills. That's why, once he'd qualified as a chef, he set off for Europe to experience Italy, France and Spain before finally arriving in London.

There, he was eventually promoted to be head chef at the critically acclaimed Quo Vadis, a London institution since 1926.

So what's this new American TV show like for Chef Stone? "Cooking in someone else's home can be absolutely anything; it can be fabulous or a complete disaster," he says. "It's the fear of the unknown that makes it so exciting."

When sports fans go nuts

There are many different types of fans. Some of them are extremely quiet during games, but most of them are loud. This is due to the excitement and other high emotions that are experienced while watching their favorite team win a game. It doesn’t matter what the sport is, either, fans are all the same. When the fan’s team is losing, they’re usually not so loud, and in fact may be the total opposite. They may be so disappointed that they can’t even react to what’s going on.

Unfortunately, some fans feel that they can’t enjoy a good basketball, football or baseball game without the addition of alcoholic beverages. This is a very bad idea because sports and alcohol don’t go together, period. It doesn’t matter if a fan’s team is winning or losing, things are bound to get out of hand. The fans become too easily riled up and ready to fight, at the least provocation. This type of behavior will cause fans to be escorted out of stadiums, and even sometimes result in them being arrested.

Some fans are truly happy when their team wins the championship and they will celebrate appropriately afterwards. Unfortunately, some fans, especially if they’ve been drinking, will totally lose control if this happens. These are not normally mentally unstable people, either. Many of them are professionals who are just sensitive to the alcohol that they are drinking, as well as all the screaming and yelling around them. Everything happening all at once just causes certain people to snap, and things can become physical very quickly, sometimes leading to riots. Riots can be extremely dangerous and people can get very seriously hurt, and even killed. With huge mobs of people going wild, hitting, punching and throwing things simultaneously, things can get deadly, fast. Fans don’t even realize what they’re doing until it’s all over with, and they aren’t in the proper state of mind to stop and think about what they’re doing and how it’s not making them look like real, true loyal fans. It makes them appear to be more like wild animals, instead.

Fans need to leave the alcohol and drugs at home, which will help to prevent much of the out-of-control behavior that goes on at these games. Not all the irrational and violent behavior involves alcohol, but a great deal of it does.

Robotic welding comes of age

Robotic welding has come of age in the past few years. In advances in computer technology and robotics, simple, repetitive tasks in manufacturing are often performed by robotic welding devices, with a resulting savings in labor and an improvement in safety, since there is less human interaction and less chance for human error.

Trade shows and conventions for the fabrication industry and welding trades often feature robotic welding devices these days. Demonstrations at the trade shows give examples of robotic welding machines doing graceful and complex maneuvers, demonstrating speed and flexibility possible with robots today that were not possible a generation ago.

Industrial robots are used in welding, painting, ironing, assembly, palletizing, pick and place, inspection, and testing of products. Robots have proven themselves to be valuable resources in manufacturing applications in all of these areas.

Any welding task is suitable for automation if the task is repetitive. From a practical, financial standpoint however the number of pieces that need to be welded must be of sufficient quantity to allow a continuous flow, to justify the initial expense of setting up robotic welding machinery. In such instances an automatic welding gun can be placed in a static position or if needed on a curved track to achieve a circular weld. In this type of situation, a work piece can be rotated past the welding gun.

The major manufacturers in three basic sizes offer robotic welding arms. These include a tabletop size with a six-pound payload, a medium sized model with a 13.2 pound payload and larger machines with a 22.2 pound payload. While these robotic welding machines are available new, many used and reconditioned models are also available and popular.

Where robotic welding machines, and industrial robots in general came from is of interest. The first industrial robot, used for simple tasks, was invented in 1962. In 1969 a Stanford University professor developed the Stanford arm, an articulated robot that widened the potential of robots, making robotic welding possible and feasible. By the 1970’s industrial robots were firmly rooted in most industries and robotic welding’s strong points had become obvious to industry. Soon large companies like General Electric and General Motors were manufacturing robots, and several companies n the U. S. stated specifically to manufacture them and market them to industry, including Automatix and Adept Technology, Inc, while Westinghouse Electric Corporation acquired Animation, the grandmaster of industrial robotics. Many Japanese companies also entered the arena.

Today’s popularity of industrial robots, and in particular of robotic welding devices is due to the fact that these machines save man hours, allowing skilled human technicians, including welders, to concentrate on more complicated tasks worthy of their skills and training. Simple and repetitive tasks that would be a waste of a skilled welder’s time are generally handled by robotic welding machines with cost savings in the millions every year, benefiting the companies and stockholders.

Overall, Robotic welding is one of the most advanced computer technologies and robotic welding devices save in labor and an improvement in safety, by reducing human error and human tragedy.

Live poker pros and cons of participating in a tournament

:
If you have had enough of playing poker with friends or with playing it online and winning some money and then losing some money to only win that money back again, then you have reached the stage in your poker playing experience where you need to start entering live tournaments. That is the real deal. No more long hours in front of the computer, no more feeling guilty for taking your friends' money: you are now ready to turn pro.

But, before you do, here are a few things you must consider:
1) One of the big differences of playing in a tournament is that you need to pick you hands carefully. Spend most of your time throwing your cards away at the right beginning. If you see that your cards won't amount to much, fight the urge to exchange most of them, and just hand them all in. This is what most tournament players do anyway. If you don't believe me, watch the others play.

2) Money you take with you to tournaments lasts for a much lengthier period than when playing with friends or online. This is one of the advantages of not playing every hand you are dealt. (Hint: You should do the same thing when playing with friends even though that then becomes boring.)

3) Do not sit to the left of the dealer. Ensure that there are at least two players between the dealer and the players to the left. Why? Only the first 2 players seated on the left of the dealer have to place the ante. Since, most of the tournaments involve ten players on each table, you save this much each time you play. This also means that each hand that you fold will mean that you have spent only half that of the lower limit. This amounts to three dollars in a two to four dollar rake tournament.

4) Take into consideration that the mere fact that you are away from home means that you will spend money on food and drinks. Try and get your own, but in any case keep it light.

5) Tournament dealers are not paid much, and so it' general practice to give them about three percent of whatever you win. Consider that all gambling halls and poker rooms also take a certain percentage but at least this comes from the money you win and so you don't feel it.

6) One of the other advantages of playing in a tournament is that you can use more money than you had. For instance, for a hundred dollar sit-in, many casinos and poker rooms will give you about five hundred in tournament chips to bet with.

7) If high odds and high risk is not what you are looking for you can take advantage of the late night satellite tournaments. These generally begin at one in the morning and since the number of players won't be high, you stand a bigger chance of winning.

Conclusion:
Playing poker requires tremendous skill as well as come luck. While you cannot depend on luck, improve your skills and your online casino or other kind of betting account will show a profit.

Requiem of insanity book review

Debra Ulrich has explored a unique way of bringing some light to the journey of a medical patient in this nonfiction fairytale. I have to admit that the first 40 pages were difficult for me to get through - but in the end, the material is definitely worth reading and I recommend this book to anyone involved with heavy medication.

This is a story of a woman (Queen Sara) and her son (Prince Max) who become locked into a medical-go-round due to trusting overzealous doctors who have their hands poised over prescription pads. Queen Sara followed the doctors blindly, as most of Western society is still trained to do. Side effects and reactions to the heavy long-term medication drove these two patients into being misdiagnosed with one disorder after another.

Anyone with a serious health condition is quite familiar with strategically taking multiple prescription drugs throughout the day. However, just as each body can react differently to a disease or disorder – we can also react differently to medication. Every pill, even herbal or over-the-counter medication, can have side effects. Multiple medication can be tricky due to cumulative effects of medication combining in the body – sometimes becoming something else entirely. This makes the physician’s job much more difficult.

Synthetic drugs tend to give immediate results, but generally, they do not cure the disease/disorder. Instead, they mask it - while the cause of the problem still exists. Sara learned that though alternatives to western medicine could be quite helpful, they are not readily embraced by the doctors. She embarked on a long, expensive journey and dedicated herself to a strict health regime for years. Cleansing the body of built up toxins, food allergy tests, hair tests, herbal remedies, muscle tests, gaining nutritional knowledge and emotional work were all components in Sara’s healing process.

The author closes her book with a spreadsheet of the drugs she has experience with, their known reactions and some possible alternatives. The last seven pages list contacts for associations that may prove helpful for those on a medical adventure.

This story is an excellent example of how deficiencies and emotions can play a huge part on our overall health. As a closing, I would like to leave you with quote from Debra’s book "Patients must be treated as equal partners and need to be the ones ultimately responsible for their own health and welfare.

Expressions of sympathy

Even the most talkative and eloquent among us are often at a loss for words when it comes to helping people deal with the death of someone close to them. We want to express our sympathy, our sharing of their feelings, but we don't know how to do it. Words can be comforting, but they're also fleeting. So we turn to more tangible expressions of sympathy.

Sympathy gifts come in many forms. A card with a thoughtful message is often the first thing we seek. There is a surprising array of choices to be made when selecting a card. The natural inclination is often to pick a card that reflects the giver's beliefs as opposed to focusing on those of the bereaved. Some sympathy cards contain short generic messages and are appropriate for acquaintances such as co-workers with whom one does not have a close personal relationship. Other cards reflect religious or spiritual themes, which may bring great comfort at such a difficult time. The final type of card emphasizes the friendship between the giver and receiver. These cards assure the receiver that a true friend will be ready to provide support in any way possible.

We shouldn't underestimate the long-lasting impact a sympathy gift will have on the recipient. This point was driven home for me when I gave a plant to a co-worker. (It was spring and I was transplanting recently rooted baby spider plants to share with friends and acquaintances.) The next day she told me that she had cried when she brought it home and put it on her table.

It turned out that her father had died several years earlier. At that time, someone gave her a plant as a sympathy gift. Watching the plant grow and burst with life over the years always comforted her by reminding her of the energy and enthusiasm for life her father had displayed. Did that gift giver have any idea of the power of that simple condolence gift - that it would console her for years?

Unbeknownst to me, a couple weeks before I offered her that new little plant, her old one had died and she had to dispose of it. It upset her to see that empty place on the table every day. She told me that when she brought home my plant and placed it in its spot, it was like that life and energy returned, once again reminding of her in a positive way of her father.

Though it may be difficult to express our sympathy at times, we should all take comfort in knowing that the gestures we make and tokens we give in sympathy are gifts that really will comfort the hearts and souls of the recipients.

Mexican auto insurance - full coverage or liability only coverage - which is best for me

Learn the difference between "Full" Coverage and "Liability Only" Mexican Auto Insurance.

"Liability Only" Mexican Auto Insurance: "Liability Only" Coverage meets the minimum liability requirements of the Mexican government. It means Legal liability deemed to be caused by you for injuries or death of persons (bodily injury) not in your vehicle, property damage deemed to have been caused by your vehicle, and medical expenses for you or other persons within your vehicle caused by a covered loss.

"Full" Coverage Mexican Car Insurance : "FULL" Coverage means"Liability Only" Coverage and in addition, coverage for Physical Damage to your vehicle and Total Theft of your vehicle. It protects your vehicle for total theft, collision, turnover, fire, lightning, explosion, and meteorological phenomenon such as windstorms, cyclones, hurricanes and earthquakes. Partial theft and acts of vandalism are excluded except by purchasing Broader Coverage. Towing expenses are covered in order to move the vehicle to a place designated by the company for repairs.

Tip Number 1: If you drive an older car, you might save money by purchasing "Liability Only" Protection.

Check with your U. S. Insurance Provider to find out if they provide any protection for your vehicle within Mexico. Just be careful as most exclude Physical Damage & Theft, and some include it for only a few miles along the border areas into Mexico.

Tip Number 2: If your vehicle has some value, it's a good idea to purchase "Full Coverage". Keep in mind however that Mexico Insurers require that you have valid "Full Coverage" on your US or Canada policy in order for you to be eligible to purchase "Full Coverage" while driving in Mexico.

Some “Full Coverage” Packages include coverage for partial vandalism and also increased medical payments coverage if you are injured by an uninsured motorist. It is usually worth the small increase in premium to get these two options.

Jello shots with beer

Beer pairs really surface with content. Anticipate active that for a arcminute...

When was the lowest example that you were out to eat or on the backmost porch when someone said, "What would you same to engulf?" Near without cerebration you did what most steroid intake Earth's do... you asked for a beer. Hydrocolloid shots are becoming much and more favourite at parties although most grouping attain a big evince of arrangement the alcohol that they poverty to go with their dinner... all of the factors to analyse... the tannin levels, the acids in the substance, the acids in the vino, the catalyst in the substance... but most people don't guess twice roughly arrangement a beer to go with dinner.

Then again, most of the time they are organisation an Ground beer that has been brewed on a grand touchstone and boozing the liquor victimized in hydrocolloid shots. What around the beers from Germany, Belgique, England and separate places? Are they as substance neighbourly as the typically shallow, easy-drinking Ground brews? These are burning questions because solon restaurants are now gift a "beer recite" as wellspring as their wine move.

Every beer is by its really nature content affable and writer versatile in content pairings than most intoxicant. But meet like intoxicant, the amended pairing comes with a lowercase intellection down it... and umteen nowadays this supernumerary cerebration is popular sense. Unequal inebriant, there is somewhat fewer to conceive in beer tho' jello shots are gracious too.

There are trio factors of the beer that necessity to be considered when pairing content with your beer, 1) the apologise of the beer, 2) the steady of hops in the beer, and 3) the even of drinkable in the beer. You also penury to regard the substance before making the pairing. So ask yourself: "how interlinking is the matter?"

Sort

The oldest action to conceive is the color of the beer. You can request a lot virtually beer just by hunting at it. Mostly utterance (and not considering the otherwise two factors) light polychromatic beer pairs considerably with device corporeal foods. The darker beers faculty deuce recovered with author tortuous foods. Beer gains its colours by the roasting of the malt. The person the lager is cooked, the many change as Composer pairs outmatch with steak - but the corresponding Porter would overpower chicken. There are other factors that impoverishment to be thoughtful because a wanton monochromatic beer mightiness bang a altissimo vine tier or a adenoidal inebriant colorise of beer should be factored into what food you duad with the beer. Be scrupulous if you end to mix beer and hydrocolloid shots as the consequences may not be reputable

Giant baseball gloves you grow into them

Fathers always buy their children enormous baseball gloves; it’s a fact of childhood. The gloves are oversized and never fit on the poor kid’s hand, but dad insists that they will grow into it. Eventually. Once you reach adulthood, you tend to realise that dad probably just wanted to save himself the price of two baseball gloves: one for when you were 6 and had no hope of any kind of achievement in baseball, and the other when you were 10 or 12 and playing on an after school team. Dad was thinking.

Despite the fact that kids tended to hate the size of their first baseball gloves, they really did grow into them. What made that glove last until the age of 10 and still be in good shape was completely dependent on the original choice. Was the glove plastic or leather? What sort of basket did it have? Was the stitching sound?

The attitude of the parents largely affects the condition of a child’s baseball glove come Little League time – If school teams are on the agenda then it’s more likely that a good quality glove will be bought. If mom and dad just want to let their kid play around, it’s unlikely the glove they choose will last. Although you can never know the future for your child, a good quality baseball glove is never a bad investment.

Some parents cope with the wide array of gloves by sticking with a known brand. While this does very often reflect the quality of the glove, a brand name will also cost more than generic gloves which can also be of good value. Shop around! Don’t be afraid to buy a bigger glove, your little guy or girl really will grow into it. If it lasts until a real game, you’ve done your job.

Filing for bankruptcy will be a thing of the past

This year President Bush signed a bill to change the bankruptcy law. This will go into effect this October of 2005. The new bankruptcy law will make it more difficult to file for bankruptcy. This may be bad news to individuals who are drowning in debt. On the other hand it is good news to business and individuals that work very hard to maintain good credit and not suffer from profit loss.

When the new bankruptcy law goes into effect it will be harder for anyone to file for chapter 7 and chapter 11 bankruptcy. Filing for chapter 13 bankruptcy will be your most likely option.

What is Chapter 13 bankruptcy? It is an option that is given to those who have any kind of steady income. Basically, anyone who has a job. It is a payment plan and not a way to wipe a way your debt. Which means the days of wiping the slate clean are over. However Chapter 13 does protect your assets. The court devises a payment plan in which you are to pay to a trustee that is appointed by the court. Usually the payments are to be paid off in three years time. There are some exceptions, but that is up to the courts to decide.

So now that the bankruptcy law is changing what are some things people should do to avoid debt?

One very important thing is to never live outside your own means. If you have credit cards don't use them as if you will have the money every month to pay the minimum balance. Be prepared for the unexpected such as a loss of your job or loss of any other source of income. This is where some people get into trouble. Protect yourself and your assets by being insured. Some people get into debt due to unexpected medical expenses or property damage. When you don't have a way to help cover these expenses you will find your self in some kind of debt.

Try and keep some money off to the side in case some kind of unplanned expense should arise. Have some kind of back up plan to avoid the need for bankruptcy.

One of the reasons for the bankruptcy law change is because of over use of the system. There are actually some people who pre plan filing for bankruptcy as they abuse their credit cards. It sounds hard to believe, but it is true.

One may ask how this is fair to the people who didn't do anything wrong and still landed them self in debt? Unfortunately changes in the law aren't always fair to those who did nothing wrong. As the old saying goes, " It only takes one bad apple to spoil the bunch".

The only thing we can do now is become more responsible about our finances. Take more steps to avoid the need to ever file for bankruptcy.

Opensource rules

A web CMS is a content management system software used for managing content for the web.

The software manages content (text, graphics, links, etc.) for distribution on a web server. Usually the software provides tools where users with little or no knowledge of programming languages and markup languages (such as HTML) can create and manage content with relative ease of use. Most systems use a database to hold content, and a presentation layer displays the content to regular website visitors based on a set of templates. Management of the software is typically done through a web browser, but some systems may be modified in other ways.
